JEWISH HOLY DAYS
Why should a Christian observe the Jewish holy days,
is that not the law and out of date?
Far from it! The holy days are all about Yeshua. Tabernacles
will be enforced on all peoples by Messiah Yeshua during His
millennial reign,
Zech14:16-19
16
And it shall
come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which
came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship
the King, Jehovah of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
17
And it shall
be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up
to Jerusalem to worship the King, Jehovah of hosts, on them there
will be no rain.
18
If the family
of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain;
they shall receive the plague with which Jehovah strikes the nations
who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
19
This shall be
the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations
that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
This passage makes it very plain that Tabernacles
is not limited to something of the past, nor is it limited to
the Jews. Tabernacles is something with a future
of 1000 years. What does concern me though is groups that are
celebrating this in a big way as if we are already in the millennium.
I find need to question where they are going. We are in the dispensation
of preaching the Gospel and reaching the lost not the dispensation
of celebration and party. That time will come. Psalm 118:25 tells us that
prosperity comes after Armageddon. Right now many
people are dying out there without Yeshua and we need to do a
lot more to reach them. We need to train many people. I
sincerely believe the Almighty gave us His holy days to learn about
Him and His ways. I truly believe that if more people were
not ignorant concerning the holy days there would be a lot less false
doctrine floating around. When the holy days are correctly understood,
they all fit together like a very neat puzzle and many issues
are cleared up.
The Catholic Church replaced the Jewish holy days with her pagan festivals.
Refer to The Two Babylons by Rev. Alexander Hislop, ISBN 0-7136-0470-0, for
details. Emperor Constantine combined all pagan religions into a universal
church for the security of the Roman Empire and had anyone killed who would
not submit. “Catholic” means universal. However a Christian or Jew at that
time still understood very well that he could not bow down to an idol and
chose rather to be a martyr. Some historians estimate as many as 40 million
Jews and Christians were martyred at the hands of the Catholic church,
historical fact. Today there are Christians who desire to observe the Jewish
Passover correctly in order to understand Yeshua and His Gospel better.
However many Christians are not being taught by learned Jews and are learning
error all over again. My desire is to supply some information here that will
assist the sincere person.
