APOSTLE – [שליח] from Greek meaning sent one; one of the five fold ministry offices Ephesians 4:11

ARAMAIC – [אֲרָמִית] an ancient semetic language very similar to Hebrew and using the same alphabet, the Jewish Talmud tells us that Adam spoke Aramaic

BCE – [לפנה''ס] before the Common Era = BC - before Christ

CATHOLIC – [קתולי] meaning universal, originally from Greek; believed to be the church referred to in Revelation 17

CE – [סְפִירַת הַנּוֹצְרִים] Common Era = AD - Anno Domini - in the year of the Lord

GEHENNA – [גיהנם] Hebrew word “Gehinnom” comes via Greek meaning Lake of Fire, teaching from Kabbalah

GEMARA – [גמרא] Hebrew word, part of the Jewish Talmud

HASHEM - [השם] Hebrew word meaning “The Name”; It is used as a substitute of the Holy Hebrew name of God, [יהוה] “Yehovah”. Rabbis of Rabbinical Judaism teach Jews today to use “Hashem” in fear of blasphemy as the real Hebrew name is too holy to pronounce. This is a teaching of man and is in contradiction to the Holy Scriptures where the great King David commands us in the Tehillim (Psalms) to extoll the name of Yehovah! According to the Encyclopædia Judaica, “Yehovah” was pronounced before the destruction of the First Temple.

HEBREW – [עברי] a Hebrew - a descendant of Eber from Genesis 10:21,24-25; [עברית] the language of the Hebrews being similar to Aramaic

ISRAEL – [ישראל] Hebrew word meaning “he shall be a minister/prince of God”; used in Scripture to refer to Yeshua; Jacobs new name - the father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel

JESUS – [ישוע] gentile name for Yeshua, came via Greek

JEW – [יהודי] a member of the House of Judah which consists of the Tribes of Judah, Benjamin and some Levites.

KABBALAH – [קבלה] Hebrew word meaning To Receive, known as Jewish Mysticism

KOHEN GADOL – [הכוהן הגדול] Hebrew meaning High Priest

MESSIAH – [משיח] From the Hebrew word “Messiach” meaning Anointed One, the title of the One promised by the prophets to solve the problems of Rabbinic Judaism.

MESSIANIC JEW – [יהודי משיחי] a complete Jew, a Jew who has accepted His Messiah Yeshua and is in covenant with Him according to Jeremiah 31:31-34.

MIDRASH – [מדרש] Hebrew word meaning to preach, expound; part of the Jewish Talmud

MISHNA – [משנה] Hebrew word meaning Doctrine, Teaching; part of the Jewish Talmud

RABBI – [רבי] literally meaning, “my master”, “teacher” is only a figurative meaning. The Hebrew word for teacher is, [מורה] “moreh”

RABBI YESHUA BAR YOSEF MIN NETSERET – [רבי ישוע בר יוסף מן נצרת] the name by which the Son of God was called during His ministry in the flesh on earth. Literally meaning, “my master is Salvation son of Joseph from Nazareth”

RABBINICAL JUDAISM – [יהדות רבנית] the Judaism taught by Rabbis, since the destruction of the second Temple, who rejected their Messiah; a Judaism founded by these Rabbis at the Council of Yavne

TALMID – [תלמיד] Hebrew word for “disciple”

TALMUD – [תלמוד] teaching; also known as the Oral Torah, written between 200 A.D. and 400 A.D. by Rabbis who rejected their Jewish Messiah and used as an interpretation of the Scriptures however with some additions to make it look relevant after Messiah succeeded Judaism

YEHOVAH – [יהוה] the holy name of God the Father and the Son, used in the Hebrew of the T’nach (Old Testament), Isaiah 44:6, usually mistranslated as LORD. Written as “Jehovah” in English.

YESHIVAH – [ישיבה] Bible college for Jews

YESHU – [ישו] from the three Hebrew letters Yod, Shin and Vav. This is a Hebrew abbreviation meaning “may His name be blotted out of the Book of Life”. This is a name used in blasphemy by Rabbis and Jews who reject Yeshua. Some Christians use this name in ignorance as their Hebrew sources are not authoritive.

YESHUA – [ישוע] the name used to refer to the Son of God in the New Testament meaning Salvation. In the Tnach (Old Testament) He was known by the names Yehovah, The Messenger of Yehovah, The Lion of Judah, Yisrael

ZOHAR - [זוהר] the name of the Kabbalah writings by Rabbi Simeon Bar Yochei the greatest authority on Kabbalah in the CE era.
