God
We worship Jehovah יהוה the Father and Jehovah יהוה the Son who is known as Yeshua ישוע (Jesus) in the New Testament. The Jewish Scriptures
clearly mention the two Jehovahs. Isaiah44:6 “Thus says
Jehovah, the King of Israel, And His Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts:
“I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no
God””. Jewish names indicate character therefore
it is understood that both Jehovahs are of the same character.
First century Judaism taught the Trinity and Jewish Kabbala still
teaches the Trinity. The worship of any other “god”
is idolatry.
Salvation
Man is alienated from God because of sin. Man cannot earn his way into heaven or God’s favour because man cannot achieve God’s standards of perfection and man still has past sin on him. Yeshua was crucified in man’s place. Only the blood of Yeshua (the perfect man) is accepted by God as atonement for man’s sin. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through
faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not
of works, lest anyone should boast.” Yeshua’s crucifiction
was a covenant that God made with man. Jeremiah 31:31-34 “Behold,
the days are coming, says Jehovah, when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-not according
to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day that
I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt,
My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,
says Jehovah. But this is the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel after those days, says Jehovah: I will put My
law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be
their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man
teach his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, “Know
Jehovah,” for they all shall know Me, from the least of them
to the greatest of them, says Jehovah. For I will forgive their
iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Reward
A talmid (disciple) of Yeshua has his reward in heaven from Jehovah. He will
receive it in the coming dispensation
when the Master will hand out the rewards. Yeshua taught this
in His midrashic parables. Matthew 25:14-30 If God causes
a person to prosper in this life, it is the exception not the
rule according to His purpose for that person.
Mikve / Baptism
The Greek word “baptizo” used in the New Testament means
“to immerse”. Immersion in water is and was a common
Jewish practice for spiritual cleansing called the “mikve”.
A person who accepts Yeshua as Lord and Saviour must submit to
Him as Lord also and obey His commandment of baptism. Mark
16:16 Yeshua said, “He who believes and is baptised will
be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
Baptism is relating to Yeshua in His death, burial and resurrection,
so the talmid is symbolically buried when he goes into the water and then rises to
newness of life.
Spiritual Gifts
As we are still in the ministry dispensation and Yeshua has not
returned to reward His servants and take away their talents according
to Matthew 25:14-30, spiritual gifts are still needed and
given to the follower of Yeshua. Mark 16:17-18 “And these
signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will cast
out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up
serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means
hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
